Another one for the books with a twist at the end. Friday we had a good time catching up, playing games and introducing mom and dad to VR.
Saturday we started our festivities a bit earlier than usual since the Alabama game was on and boy did we have a blast!
After the game, it was time to change into another team’s gear, the Cubs. As we have a yearly theme and we tie into the big events of the year, we had a choice between the election or the Cubs winning the World Series after 108 years! So we decided to go the more fun route and go for the Cubs. :) We looked like true fans and we celebrated like we had just won again!
OK so fast forward to a few hours later and it was only 9:30pm. We were exhausted and there was no way we would make it to midnight. So a bit of a disappointment we didn’t get to ring in the new year in our standard way, but the next morning, we got up, pulled up the ball dropping and recreated it. Because nobody says you can’t celebrate later. You know what, it turned out great and just as awesome. So here’s to saying “HAPPY NEW YEAR” at 7:30am. Champagne and all!
