Field Trip #6

The last Kindergarten field trip was bittersweet.  Happy that we were finally done since 95% of my vacation time this year has been devoted to field trips but sad knowing this was the last time I got to hang out with these awesome kids!  From the first field trip to this one they have all grown and matured so much.  This field trip was to Destin Commons where we played in the park, went to Build-A-Bear and then the water pad.  Matt was able to join us for this one so he attended the first and last!  This was his first time on the school bus with the kids… he told the bus driver he could not do her job! ;)

We started off with the kids playing in the park, ate lunch and then headed to Build-A-Bear.  The employees there really took their job seriously and made it magical for the kids.  They did have 4 or so Kindergarten classes in there at once so I guess their survival skills kicked in because they managed to get them all through the line pretty quickly.  There was a child absent from Lillian’s class and Matt stepped in and filled his shoes.  Literally. He was 5 years old from the time we stepped in until we stepped out.  Sat with the kids, went up to build the bear and even wore the kid’s name tag.  Now that’s a team player!

The most fun of all was the water pad.  The kids were so hot and tired that this was the perfect end to their day.  They had a ball.  Funny how both the first and last of their field trips ended with water pads!
