Matt’s Birthday

This year for Matt’s birthday I went with a cooking theme for his presents.  He has really gotten into cooking and honing in on his knife skills so I took advantage of his new passion and went with it.  I gave hime a pre birthday gift a few months ago allowing him to choose 3 different types of cooking classes he wanted to attend.  He’s taken advange of 1 so far and that was learning now to make sushi!

He also received on his birthday a Guy Fieri, 8" chef knife and two Kuhn Rikon knives which I think he has gotten some good use of already!  Lillian also went with the knife theme and gave him a pocket knife since he lost his last one.  Natalie gave him a wood brain teaser puzzle and a screwdriver with removable tip.  Here’s the birthday boy with his little babies.  As you an see Lillian is in a phase right now where she doesn’t like to make normal faces at the camera. :)  Also, notice the birthday hat.  Lillian picked it out because she knew it would fit daddy!  Natalie also has a new theme that she doesn’t feel the need to look at the camera any more.  I hope that phase passes quickly.

For his birthday Matt wanted to have brownies and go to the beach so we did!  It was our first trip to the beach this season and we really couldn’t have picked a better day to go.  The water was crystal clear and it was warm enough that I would even get in!  We even got the chance to see 30 or so cow rays swim around us!  They really enjoyed the waves and you could see them getting all ready to ride the waves in like everyone else.  It truly was a neat experience.

Natalie really liked the water at first.  She thought it was pretty amazing…. until we sat her down and a wave came and knocked her over.  I didn’t react well to it and so neither did she. After that, she was terrified of the water!  My poor baby, I think I scarred her!  As you can see from the below she didn’t enjoy having her picture taken by the water!

After the beach we got ourselves all cleaned up and headed to our yearly crawfish boil!  Something we look forward to every year and it happened to land on Matt’s birthday this year so double bonus!

Happy 31st birthday to you, my wonderful husband.   I hope you enjoyed your day!
