Mother’s Day 2011

You are my I love you

I am your quiet place, you are my wild
I am your calm face, you are my giggle
I am your wait, you are my wiggle
I am your audience, you are my clown
I am your London Bridge, you are my falling down
I am your Carrot Sticks, you are my licorice
I am your dandelion, you are my first wish
I am your water wings, you are my deep
I am your open arms, you are my running leap
I am your way home, you are my new path
I am your dry towel, you are my wet bath
I am your dinner you are my chocolate cake
I am your bedtime, you are my wide awake
I am your finish line, you are my race
I am your praying hands, you are my saving grace
I am your favourite book, you are my new lines
I am your nightlight, you are my sunshine
I am your lullaby, you are my peek-a-boo
I am your kiss goodnight, you are my I love you

Wow, my second year as a mother of two!  It’s been a great year, I can’t complain.  I have really enjoyed having two little girls to love and hold and at times be overwhelmed by. ;) But like I said, I can’t complain I have two very loving girls who love each other.  What else can a mother ask for?

This year the girl’s teachers did a great job on coming up with awesome gifts for kids to give out.  First, they hosted a Mother’s Day Tea, which unfortunately, we weren’t able to go to because I had already set up an appointment for the girls to get their 1 year and 5 year check up so I could have their shots up to date.  Yeah I know, I should have chosen the Mother’s Day Tea, but with shots you never know if they’ll get a fever or not and I needed the weekend to make sure they could ride the fever out. But on the plus side, I got my Mother’s Day gifts early so I got to show them off at work Friday so it all worked out.

Lillian gave me some very adorable, personalized items.  I received a jar with my initial on it that had all the ingredients to make s’mores.  I also received a paper mache’ flower pot, a handprint, a card with a personalized story and a fan.  She did a great job creating all her gifts and she was so proud of all she made!

Natalie’s teacher made me a calendar where every month had a different personalized "Natalie hand print art piece" to represent the month.  It was adorable and you could tell there was a lot of effort and thought in that gift!

Not to be undone, Matt made me a carrot cake bought me some photoshop actions, and made me a delicious meal for dinner.  It was definitely a great Mother’s Day!

Last year I took a picture of me and my girls and I wanted to keep up with the tradition and do a similiar picture so we could see how we’ve changed.  A year can go so fast but yet make such a difference. I have to say, I feel pretty blessed to be my little girls’ mommy!
