John and Andrea let us know they were coming into town a few weeks ago and instead of just going to my parent’s house we decided to truly make it a vacation for everyone and spend some good quality time together outside of our normal routines. We rented a home at Lake Martin that spaciously accomodated us all (13 of us!). The house wasn’t perfect by any means, it had some issues, but in the overall picture I definitely think we accomplished the goal of getting away.
The kids had a wonderful time together and it was so nice to see Katelynn and see how she’s slowly becoming more and more woman-like. Jaylynn was a pure joy, overdramatic expressions and a sweet tiny voice all wrapped up in a perfect tiny body. Dylan is John’s mini-me, his mannerisms remind me so much of John it’s scary at times.
Between almost everyone fishing all day, eating well, and enjoying a makeshift theater experience it was truly a wonderful mini vacation. I hope we’re able to do it soon again. The last time, before last weekend, that we were all together was at mine and Matt’s wedding and that’s definitely too long to wait for another Traver-Ross renunion!
