Sheep Farm!

This place has been on my Airbnb bucket list since I saw it and we were finally able to go!  OMG it was so freakin’ cool.  We planned it to get there during lambing season and that did not disappoint.  Not only did we have the coolest view but we also got to see 7 babies born in our short time there.  AH!  So fun. Let’s start the adventure:

First day we’re greeted by the house cat that wanted to make sure we liked him enough to feed him but not enough to love on him.  Smart kitty. The rams were in the field near our house and they were curious enough to give us a good peak from our deck, which by the way, had a spectacular view. The owners are chefs as well and they offer meal and baked good services which we took them up on that offer to have dinner the first night and baked good every morning.  BEST CHOICE EVER!  We had spicy lamb meatballs with gravy, collards, stone grits, roasted sweet potatoes and persimmon blondies. After that hearty dinner, we settled in for the night to a warm fire, and crossword puzzles.

Next morning we got up, enjoyed our coffee on the deck and ramped up for a hike around the property.

We found the waterfall close to their property and there was gold flakes in the water!

Then at noon, we were able to do the most fun thing in the whole world… get up close and personal with lambs!

We had too much fun so we asked if we could come for their evening feeding and help out with anything they needed and we were in for an awesome surprise.  That night we saw 4 lambs being born and Matt was able to roll up his sleeves and help the owner with a difficult delivery. To top it all off, we got to hold the lambs too.  It was a fantastic experience!

Ended our day feeling accomplished, tired and witnessing another amazing view

On our last morning, we left a note for our hosts and welcomed the day
