3rd Grade & VPK

1st day of school!  Wow, time is flying.  First year starting off in GA and I have a 3rd grader and a VPK’er’.  We had a wonderful Summer experience so school started way before we were ready.  I’m thankful for finally feeling completely at ease with each of their Summer camps.  Luckily, they were able to be in the same school they have been going to daycare and after school and they enjoyed every minute of it.  Alas, we prepped our selves for our new routine.

Natalie was so stoked about the idea of being in “school”.  Lillian, on the other hand, was a little hesitant.  We headed to Natalie’s school first and said our goodbyes to our excited baby.  We got to Lillian’s school and we waited for the bell to ring.  Lillian held my hand as tight as can be as she looked at the day ahead of her of new experiences.  We made it to her class and we said our goodbyes, but Lillian wasn’t quite ready.  Unfortunately, we weren’t able to make it to open house so the adjustment of change was a little difficult for her.  After lots of reassuring, we left our sad little girl to start her day.  This was the first year I didn’t break down.  I guess I’ve grown some through all this process!

When I picked them up from school, they both said they had a superb day!  Lillian made some friends and saw some she made the year before.  Natalie had already filled up her sticker chart for the week in one day! Happy babies equals happy mommy.  I think we’re off to a great start!
