1st Grade Field Trip #4

Can you believe #3 and #4 were only a day apart?!  Yeah, me neither!  Thursday I was at the bowling alley and then Friday I was in the play area of Uptown Station.  On my way to work I called Matt we got to talking about how this was Lillian’s last field trip for 1st grade.  Matt always said he’d go to the first and the last one.  He called me when I was leaving again for a lunch field trip and asked where I was.  I told him I was just heading out and I said, why, where are you, and he said he was already at the park waiting for me.  He ended up taking the rest of the day off so he could keep his promise.  I got a good one on my hands I tell you.

We walked down the street until we saw Lillian’s class walking towards us and we helped walk the class the rest of the way to the play area.  Lillian was so surprised to see us, especially Matt.  She was beside herself with excitement!  Her class started off by playing in the jungle gym area and they thought that was fun, but they were quickly losing interest as they got hotter and hotter under the mid day sun.  A few minutes later, they were in the water area and you would have thought the heavens had opened!  They went screaming, laughing and running!  It was great to see!  Their teacher, Mrs. Criscillis, went to the Winn Dixie down the road and bought the kids some popsicles.

Matt checked Lillian out and they headed off to lunch while I went back to finish my day at work.  Then they picked up Natalie and headed home to get in the pool.  A perfect ending to their day!
