Grandma Time!

Lillian’s summer care was less than ideal, actually it wasn’t good at all.  As the weeks went by you could see how increasingly unhappy Lillian was in that place and she was starting to pick up some behaviors that Matt and I didn’t enjoy.  We were done, we were all done with that place.  We decided to take some action on ours and Lillian’s unhappiness and we reached out to Matt’s mom for some assistance.  We knew it would probably be a long shot with the distance between us and not knowing what was going on in their world that was keeping them busy. We were so excited, fortunate and honored for her to say YES!  Not only did was she going to stay for a week but she was bringing Matt’s sister Emily and they would be here in time to celebrate Lillian’s birthday with her!  Triple SCORE!

You could tell almost immediately Lillian’s mood and behavior changing.  She was a content little girl again and so were we.  What a difference it makes knowing your child is well taken care of.  When you are used to the best childcare in the area and you have to look and use the other options, it just doesn’t compare in the caliber of care and caregivers.  It’s a hard transition. Needless to say, both girls were glued to Grandma from the time she arrived.  Unfortunately, it rained every day they were here so their activities were limited but no less enjoyable for them all. Lots of playing and laughing was happening in the Ross household!

This visit turned out so awesome, we might see if next year we can do it again!
