4th of July 2012 Fun!

This year, my parents joined us for their summer vacation the week of July 4th.  We ventured out for the day and ended up at Baytowne Wharf to do a little walking around.  I didn’t realize nor did anyone else, that we would be coming into a small festival! :)  It turned out quite fun even if it was about 200 degrees outside!  Between eating, playing, face painting and carousel riding the girls and adults had a great time.  It was definitely more interesting then sitting around the house!

Usually, I have the girl’s outfits for the 4th of July outfits picked out but time got away from me and I had nothing!  Until I remembered I had bought these dresses for some summer pictures.  SCORE!

Someone gave us a free ticket to the carousel which I’m really happy they did.  That was the shortest ride I had ever seen. I think she went around 5 times and it was done.  The face painting was really neat.  The lady was super talented and it took her less than 2 minutes to get Lillian’s face transformed :) Natalie was thinking she wanted to do it and then was like I don’t want a strange person touching me!

By the time we had done all of our activites we were looking for any reason to sit in a cool place so we hit up the gelato cafe for a cool treat.

After our refreshing treat and a stop at Acme Oyster House for beers and oysters we got back to playing!  After a fun filled day, we headed home to rest before the fireworks.

We put on a good firework show and thought we did good until some neighbors near us started theirs!  I think they spent their entire life savings on their fireworks!  It just kept going and going and going!  I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!
