Mother’s Day 2012

They know me in a way no one ever has.

They open me to things I never knew existed.

They drive me to insanity and push me to my depths.

They are the beat of my heart, the pulse of my veins,

and the energy in my soul.

They are my kids!

Year 3 down as a mother of 2!  Gosh, this year has brought on some new experiences as a mom.  Sending Lillian to kindergarten and seeing her exceed in school and hold her own is awesome.  It’s nice to see that she is listening and growing into a great big kid.  Makes me proud to call her mine.  Natalie is just growing and talking and talking and taking and talking.  She talks A LOT.  She’s always been that little piece of sunshine.  She puts you in a good mood just being close to her.  I hope that continues as she grows.  She truly has a gift for it.

I so enjoy seeing Natalie and Lillian’s relationship develop; playing together and working through their differences.  Both of them have a very strong sense of what is right to them but they are willing to compromise on what’s best for the other.  Love, love, love that.

I had a wonderful Mother’s Day this year.  It all started that Friday with a Mother’s Day picnic at Natalie’s school where I was able to pick up Lillian early and really enjoy my babies together.  The school set up a little photoshoot area so all the mom’s got a keepsake of their babies. We finished off the night with a dinner out.

Saturday we cleaned up the house and got ourselves clean and drove over to Pensacola for Disney on Ice – Princess Wishes!  The girls were beyond amazed and looked adorable in their matching princess outfits.  Thank you Wal*Mart for your $7 outfits!  So much fun!  Matt and I have both decided we’re going to take a year or 2 off from the Disney shows after this one and look for other avenues for family entertainment but it was a good end to our run!

Sunday I enjoyed my goodies from my munchkins and a yummy breakfast from Matt!  While Matt made me breakfast Lillian and Natalie went outside to pick me some flowers from our "garden" to place at the center of the table.  Definitely a great touch!

Lillian gave me a potted plant with a hand painted pot and a book of questions she answered about me.  Natalie gave me a Natalie original painting and a book mark.  So personal and sweet!  Loved my gifts!

and of course I can’t end it without my yearly Mother’s Day picture of me and my girls!  Wow, we’ve all changed so much!
