Valentine’s Dinner

Valentine’s Day was and has been a big hit in our household.  Once we started celebrating it as a family it’s actually been kind of fun. :)  Traditionally, we have had spaghetti or some sort of of pasta with red sauce, but this year we changed it up and I think it might be the the "thing" for us to have each year.

The Sunday before, Natalie and Lillian made us a campout in Natalie’s room and Lillian made all the signs for it.  They had blankets and picnic items out for us to enjoy.  It ended with them jumping on the bed hence the Two Little Monkeys post.  That was a great way to start the festivities.  That afternoon Matt got to work on our mason jar cupcakes so they would be ready to ice on Tuesday.  They turned out really cute and very easy to make. Not to mention, super portable!

Valentine’s Day we got home from work and made our dinner which we ate off the new plate settings Lillian and I picked out for the big day. Never had candlelight dinner over grilled cheese (heart shaped no less) and tomato soup but it really classed up the dish and of course made it extra special for the munchkins! ;)
