Mardi Gras 2012

2nd year in a row we went to the Emerald Grande to catch the Mardi Gras festivities.  You can read about last year’s experience here. We had a really good time with some fabulous friends and their two girls.  It’s pretty awesome because Lillian and their oldest are about the same age and grew up together at the daycare, and Natalie and their youngest are only 6 month apart and are in the same playing group at the daycare too.  So needless to say they really enjoy each other’s company!

Before heading to the big parade we had a group family lunch at AJs, then walked down to check out what was new and also to claim our little spot to see the parade.  We were lucky to get a spot very close to last year which is right in the middle.  That way we we don’t get the stingy throwers in the beginning that want to make sure their beads last vs the ones that run out at the end of the parade.  Lillian was able to get a primo spot again.  Older people really like the kids at the parade and Lillian landed a spot right in the very front.  Not only that but any beads or candy that they caught, they would give to Lillian and her little friend!  Yup, they hit the jackpot!

Natalie wasn’t all that enthusiastic about the parade and she followed her tradition of the year before and yonked out on Matt. :)  Maybe next year she’ll be more excited!
