Storytime LIVE

 p1

We got the opportunity to see Storytime Live and it was AWESOME!  Lillian loves her "tv" especially Nick Jr, formally Noggin.  She loves all the shows, Wonder Pets, Kailan, Backyardigans, Dora – all of them.  Well, we kept seeing advertising for the Storytime Live show and I had to check it out.  Lucky for us, there was one showing in Pensacola right around her birthday time and we decided we would do that as her last gift from us.

My work does trade (we provide an advertising schedule and they give us tickets for the advertising) with the Saenger Theater in Pensacola and I found out we were going to get trade for this show so I was able to get 3 tickets for FREE!  I love my job and it’s perks! If we had any reservations of going, that was definitely thrown out the window when we were given the tickets. :)

We had been hyping it up for some time and Lillian was getting so excited about seeing all her "friends" in a show.  The day finally came and we drove to Pensacola, had a lovely family dinner at Whataburger and headed to the show!  We had balcony seats which was nice since we didn’t have to worry about big heads in our way, though I did manage to sit behind a big headed person – lucky me!  We gave Lillian the best seat, I mean it was her show after all!

We got to the show a little early and when we got our seats we got a good look at stage and it was sooo cool!  It was like being a part of the in between shows with Moose and Zee and that’s when Lillian got SUPER excited!  She kept jumping up and down saying – thank you thank you thank you for taking me here!!  it was so sweet and totally made mine and Matt’s day!

The show was broken down into 4 mini stories Kailan was first, then Backyardigans, intermission, Wonder Pets and it finished up with Dora. The person that did the event planning for this show definitely didn’t have kids since it was on a Tuesday at 7pm and by intermission all the kids were getting restless and tired.  But once Dora got on the stage the energy picked up and the kids went BUNKERS and so did the parents! I’m not going to lie, I think we were just as excited as Lillian!  Matt and I just kept looking at Lillian with these big goofy grins – so happy that we could make her so happy!  We kept saying to each other "man, we are so parents!" Natalie enjoyed it too! she just stared and stared at everything. She was a perfect baby the whole time.

The show ended and we were able to get right out and start our hour drive home. We thought Lillian would crash on the way home but no, she talked to us about the show the whole time.  Overall, it was a worthwhile experience.  Lillian is already asking when we can see them again and Matt and I are looking into other shows we can take her too!  If you get a chance to go it’s definitely worth it!
