Snow In Florida?

The weather forecast called for snow this morning and we didn’t want to go into town just to have the schools close.  Since Lillian’s daycare follows the school closings, we’d have had to pick her up then drive home with other inexperienced snow drivers so we made the executive decision to stay home!

After it rained most of the day, let me correct that, after it drizzled most of the day we were starting to feel like we jumped the gun on staying home.  But around 1:45pm it started to rain a little harder and then bam!  SNOW!  It was awesome!

We woke Lillian from her nap and went outside to enjoy the pretty big snow flurries.  It started to stick but that didn’t take.  The snow probably lasted about an hour, but I have to say it was worth staying home and enjoying the experience with the family.  Even Maggie and Charlotte joined in the fun and hung outside with us for a little while.

Now, to some I know it wouldn’t make their top 10 memories of the year since they’re used to seeing snow  – and lots of it – but for us it was a rare experience.  Now we can say we played outside while it snowed in Florida.
