Lowe’s Safety Day

My boss’s daughter works at Lowe’s and we got the inside scoop about the safety day they were having.  Since there isn’t much to do around our neck of the woods and we’re always up for a family activity we decided to check it out.  It turned out to be pretty neat. Lillian got to tour a fire truck and a helicopter.  The wheel on the fire truck was just as big as her!  That was pretty interesting.  Then we got to see a little display on the sea turtles and what their eggs looked like buried in the sand.

Our favorite part of the event was the building section.  Once a month Lowes has a parent/child building activity where you get your very own apron with your name on it, safety goggles and a hammer.  You get the monthly kit and work with your little one to build it.  Since they were having the event they decided to raise a little more awareness of their monthly project.  So Lillian and Matt got to work on building a fire truck!  Lillian got to practice hammering and she did a very good job at following along with the steps. It’s not every day you get to build and take home your own toy!  I think that’s pretty neat.  Matt said that he wants to start taking her to more of these and I know Lillian would be so stoked to go.  She keeps trying to put on her apron and build something!

Least favorite part for everyone was that it was so hot that day.  We couldn’t wait to get inside to cool off.  Lillian would say her least favorite part was the helicopter taking off.  She did not enjoy the wind the helicopter produced and was very angry with it.
