Our Christmas

This year I had to work the week of Christmas so we spent our holiday at home with just our little family.  Christmas Eve we put out the cookies for Santa and when Lillian went to sleep, we got up and began our parenting mission.  Matt and I had a good time playing Santa; we ate the cookies, put out her presents and then we sat. For some reason we thought it was going to be a long process of putting out presents and eating but 10 minutes after Lillian was asleep, we were back in bed.

Matt, the pups, and I were awake at 6:30 just hanging around waiting for Lillian to wake up.  We thought it would be a better idea if she woke up by all by herself, since lack of sleep makes for a not happy Lillian.  Well, FINALLY, at 8:30 she decides to wake up.  She had a good time opening her presents.  Lilllian was more intrigued by the candy that she got than her gifts.  Santa brought her a Hello Kitty water cooler, big girl panties, a stroller for her baby, play-doh,  a giant coloring poster, pajamas, Hello Kitty snacks, curious george doll, puzzles, and a teddy bear.  She was pretty content!

If it wasn’t enough that Lillian was having such a good time with all her toys, this mornng, it just happened to be raining! Since we’re in Florida, and we’re having great warm weather, Lillian wanted to go and play.  And, who were we to tell her she couldn’t go play in the rain on Christmas (OK, we would have said no if it was cold, but she’s a smart cookie, she wouldn’t have asked if it was).  So once she got the go ahead, she stripped, opened the sliding glass door and she was off!  What a great end to a fun morning.
