NorthEast 2024

We needed to visit more of the Northeast, and since we had our new passports, we decided to make the most of both. We flew back into Boston, a city we loved the first time we visited, and took a little time to explore before heading through New Hampshire. Along the way, we stopped for lobster rolls. They tried, but it still was not the one. We are still waiting for the best lobster roll in Maine.

Our end goal was Montreal, and we were ready to be there. The drive north was beautiful, full of scenic views, and when we finally arrived, we stayed in Old Montreal. It felt so much like Europe, and I absolutely loved it. Our first night we found a late-night pub with incredible food, and of course, poutine took center stage. Natalie even recognized one of the NHL players who happened to be there and went to say hi. Small world.

The next day, the kids went down one of the fastest slides I have ever seen, which I believe was part of a viral trend because of how fast it was. We also visited the Formula 1 racetrack and actually walked it, which was such a unique experience. Later that day we went to an NHL game, and when I tell you that Canada has the best fans, that is no joke. Having only been to Dallas Stars games, this was such a different experience. The game mattered more than the show or the sparkle, and we all loved it.

After two days of exploring Montreal (you will be missed, we will be back), we started our drive south toward Vermont to visit the Ben and Jerry’s farm. It was so fun to see it in person. By the end of the trip, it felt like a whirlwind, and the only disappointment was that we did not get a stamp in our passports.

When we returned to Boston, we visited the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, which has some of Natalie’s favorite artwork. The space was stunning, the art was incredible, and it was such a peaceful way to close out the trip.

Another stellar adventure in the books, and we are already dreaming about exploring more of our great northern neighbors.
