New Orleans, you are the New York of the South. Rich in culture, confidence in yourself and utterly uncaring what anyone thinks. You were a magical ending to our trip. The humidity, the music, the food. It’s a recipe of love and movement. We ate and ate and took it in. Best gumbo in town, live jazz, the beignets! Yeah, we felt the love. After living in TX for a bit, it felt right to feel some deep soul. You can leave the South, but you never forget it.
And… apparently the South didn’t want us to leave. We headed to the airport a littler earlier than usual so we could just settle. Little did we know that settling meant hours and hours. Cancellation after cancellation our mid day flight turned into leaving at a little before mid-night and getting home in the wee hours of the next day. When the plane showed up, it was like our knight and shining armor had come. It was just us and a two other families on this big ole plane. What an ending to the trip!
