This past week I joined Lillian in another field trip adventure with her class. This time, we went to the Mattie Kelly Arts Center for a the play verson of P.D. Eastman’s Are You My Mother? This would be on the list as the worst field trip I went on so far. The kids were great, the ride was great, even the location was great, but the play was eh. The stage had a minimal set which wasn’t bad but it looked more like a gymnastics room tumbling toys. The kids were entertained at first but it was a little long (50 or so minutes) for a story that could have been told in 8 minutes max. ;) They lost interest pretty quickly and the broadway singing was not their preferred musical experience. Overall, nothing to write home about but I did enjoy seeing how much the kids had grown and how well behaved they all were. Lillian has a great class this year!
