It was our year at home which was awesome, but we were not alone! We had my parents come and spend the holiday with us. I think we needed each other and it was nice to spend the good and the not too great times being together. We ate a lot, we drank a lot and we enjoyed each other’s company. Lots to be thankful for! We took the opportunity to each write what we were thankful for and that was a great start to our dinner.
The day after Thanksgiving when everyone else was either avoiding the crowds or in the crowds, we went to our found gem, Vickery Creek and introduce my parents to its beauty. It was needed! After that, we visited the Smith Plantation and took a tour. Such great history right around us and having the docent dressed in the time period definitely added to the story. We weren’t able to take pictures on the tour which I was glad to really just soak it in.
