We got up early and explored a little more of Charleston before heading out. Our next stop was Hilton Head. Figured if we were that close to a beach, we should take advantage of getting our feet in the sand. Plus! there was a Publix nearby and we had our hearts set on eating a Publix sub! This part of the trip was definitely less climatic than we had anticipated. The beach was eh. I guess when you are used to Destin and the Gulf Coast, your standards are a bit higher. We only stayed about an hour before we headed to get our subs. That also missed the mark a little as they were understocked on key ingredients. Nonetheless, we accomplished the goal. Get our feet in the sand and eat Publix subs.
Sooo… I know this is called South Carolina Part III but, even though that was the way we referred to our vacation, it’s rare we stay in one state the whole vacation. True to us, we opted to head to Georgia and finally see Savannah, a location we failed to visit while we lived there. Now, this place raised our spirits a bit. Beautiful town and lots to take in. First day explored near the hotel, which in itself was in a neat location.
