Emily and Nichole came to visit us for a long weekend and we had a blast. We thought we’d get rained out all weekend but, luckily, we had perfect weather. Well hot weather anyway. Friday Matt took them and the kids around Alpharetta and then met me for lunch at our favorite sushi place. Dinner was fresh pasta by Matt and Natalie. YUM. It was so good that they ended up getting a pasta machine when they got home!
Saturday we hung out with Aunt Ayrika and Uncle Paul. Ayrika surprised them with a wedding cake which was super sweet! We also bought stuff to have a low country boil so they got to experience crawfish for the first time! As always, it’s freaking amazing and we just about cleared the table.
Sunday we went into Atlanta to the Ponce City Market. I was hoping to show them the beltline art but two things were against us. The ungodly heat and the fact that the art starts on the other side of the beltline so they didn’t get to see anything cool outside. Next time we’ll know better! So we headed to the rainbow sidewalk and to our surprise, we were able to watch some drag show performances put on by a local bar. It was honestly a highlight. There may be a date night for Matt and I there very soon.
It was so nice to have them over. Lots of fun and late night conversations. Hope to do it again in the very near future!
