She did it! She’s officially done with Elementary school. WHAT?! How did this happen?
Matt and I were able to attend her graduation which was so nice. To keep it from not being super crowded, they streamed the ceremony to all the classrooms so that every class could watch. That means Natalie was able to see her big sister walk across the stage! The 5th graders even walked the halls of the school so the K-4th grade could congratulate them. Very Awesome!
The teachers did a great job and it was very sentimental. You could tell this particular class made an impact on their career. We had a good view of Lillian, and though she was strong through the ceremony, the emotions of the day caught up with her and she tried really hard to hold it together. That is, until she saw me. Matt and I waited to walk out to avoid the rush of the crowd and when we finally made it out, we saw Lillian looking through the window waiting for us. As soon as I had my arms around her, she bawled. Sweet tender moment.
It didn’t last long. With the energy hyped up with family and friends taking pictures and her able to get some time with her friends she was quickly back to her chipper self.
These kids are going places. I can’t wait to see what middle school brings. I’m glad I have one more Summer go get used to the idea though.
Coolest part? The mom’s in the neighborhood (not me) planned a 5th grade pool party at our pool with pizza and sweet treats. Great ending to a huge milestone day!
