Lillian’s birthday fell on a Thursday this year so what else was I to do but take the day off and spend it with my munchkin. :) Natalie did a great job of waking up Lillian with a happy birthday serenade and cuddles. Then we got dressed and dropped Natalie off at school to allow for some good mommy and Lillian time.
We ate breakfast of her choice (popcorn chicken from Wal-Mart and a bag of funions :)) and then continued on our way of running errands and getting her things for her birthday party. We had a tasty lunch with daddy and then went back to our shopping and fun. That night we had Hardees (again her choice) and went home to sing happy birthday and try out our snowcone machine prior to the birthday party :)
Friday was a blur of getting decorations ready for the big day on Saturday and we awaited Lillian’s big surprise! Grandma and Emily! Matt’s mom and sister Emily drove down to spend the week with the kids!
Saturday was the big day and it was a great day! Lillian had a Summer themed birthday with water fun and cool treats for her and her friends to enjoy. After some running around in the water activities, complete with water balloons, they had a picnic lunch in the living room. We followed that with a chance for them to be creative and decorate their goody tote while Matt got the ice ready for our snowcones. Then it was off to cake, ice cream and presents. Turning 6 celebration was a huge success!
