A shopping center close to Lillian’s daycare was having a flag raising ceremony in honor of the 4th of July. This was pretty cool in itself that they were doing this, but it also happens to be on the tallest flag pole in the state of Florida!
Since her class was studying flags, the teacher asked if parents would be interested in picking up their child to take them to watch the ceremony and then of course take them back to school. Every parent said they would be available so we had our first field trip! The kids were so excited.
They ran around with their flags, sporting their leis and watched in awe as they saw the process of raising the flag. When the flag was finally going up Lillian kept jumping up and down with excitement. It truly touched my heart the excitement she felt for our flag. I hope that never goes away.
