We got to Montgomery a day early for Thanksgiving break and we decided to make the best use of our extra time. We got up early and headed to the zoo so we were the first ones in when they opened. I think our plan worked out really well since we had the whole grounds to ourselves and we were able to take our time and see what we wanted without being distracted by the crowds. Unfortunately for us though, it was the first real cold day of the year and the animals were adjusting so there wasn’t much of activity in some of the exhibits. Overall, it was a successful second trip to the zoo for Lillian and first for Natalie. Lillian and Matt even got the opportunity to feed the giraffes! Lillian was stoked at first, she just couldn’t wait but as soon as the giraffe came near her hand she was done! She dropped all the straw/grass and pretty much took off! :) Our next zoo visit will either by the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans or the St. Louis Zoo, whichever we get to first.
