Projects

I think our Walmart was one of the last that actually had a fabric section still in it.  Well, they finally decided to catch up to the others and they are getting rid of it. Fortunately for me, I saw that they were marking down their fabrics and was able to score some nice upholstery fabric for what I thought was a good price – $4ish a yard.  When I got up there the guy cutting the fabric said "you know this is an extra 50% off right?" "we were too lazy to reprice it all" SCORE!  So I got 8-9 yards for like $22 bucks!

Matt went to work and made us some new curtains for our kitchen area and some new pillows for the couches.  I think it was time for a change.  The dining area finally has some color to it which really makes the kitchen pop and now the pillows on the couches lighten the living room up.  Overall, it’s made a big impact for not a lot of money.  My kind of decorating!

This is a not so recent project but one I revisited this weekend.  We made Natalie her daycare bag and it looked really nice but after a few weeks of heavy use the letters were starting to peel off so I spent a good portion of Saturday stitching around it.  I should have done it when we first made the bag since it looks so much nicer now!

Finally, I got some really cute letters at Natalie’s baby shower but I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to do with them since she already had her initials on the wall.  I was able to find out where the person got the letters in the first place and got Lillian’s "L".  I got some scrapbook paper and stapled some ribbon to the back, put a hook on their door and now they have a nice personal mark to their bedroom.  It turned out really cute!

So that’s a quick recap of our projects the last few weeks.  We have a few more in the works so hopefully, we can share them soon!
