Matt and I know that Valentine’s for just us is more or less a thing of the past and since we really didn’t do anything for it before Lillian we aren’t missing much! This year we wanted to make it a special day so we decided to pay it special attention and create some yearly traditions we all can look forward to.
We went with a red & pink theme; red pasta, red drinks, strawberry cupcakes, heart cookies, heart shaped breadsticks, and Valentine’s Day shirts for everyone! We ate dinner by candlelight and went around the table saying what we most enjoyed about our day. It turned quite fun and very relaxing. No gifts, no cards just simple family time.
Next we’re thinking of doing something similar for St Patrick’s Day. It’s nice to have a holidays to look forward to other than Christmas and birthdays.
