Beach, Park, & Goofy Golf

Last Sunday we got up early and headed to the beach.  Since we got there about 7:30 we pretty much had the whole beach to ourselves which was very nice.  The water finally looked like the Emerald Coast.  I don’t know what happened this year but we’ve had some ugly water and it was a welcomed change to see clear emerald water.  My friend Hillary brought Lillian some really cool stuff when she came down for her birthday and one of them happened to be a little beach chair.  Lillian was very stoked to be able to try it out.

We spent quite of bit of time there between Lillian and Matt getting in the water – way too cold for me – and taking a stroll down the beach.

And for some reason the seagulls decided that they should visit right next to us for half the time we were there.  So I figured if they were just going to hang around I would get some pictures of them

We worked up quite an appetite after our beach trip so we decided to have breakfast at a local restaurant.  On our way there we drove past the shopping center that had the classic cars I posted about last week so we stopped there first.  In that shopping center, they have a pretty cool play area for the kids and since we were out looking at all the cars it was hard for Lillian not to notice there was a place just for her a short walk away.  Lillian made a good argument so we agreed to let her have some fun, at the park, before heading for breakfast.

After the park we were finally on our way to breakfast!  Across from the breakfast place there is Goofy Golf – a miniature golf park.  This is the same one that Matt and I would play in when were were little and he lived here and I would come to visit friends with our family.  So it kind of holds a little bit of nostalgia for us.

We weren’t planning on heading over there after breakfast but it’s the least packed we’ve seen it ever (maybe because it was like 10:30 on Sunday but whose keeping track) and we figured having a 3 year old "playing" wouldn’t upset anyone.  Lillian didn’t really want to understand the concept she was more intested in trying to jump and play on all the animals and obstacles for the course.  We played about 5 holes through and then after that it was more about grabbing the ball and putting it in the hole.

Needless to say, we didn’t play the entire 18 holes but since it only cost us $3.50 to play I can’t say we were too disappointed.  We finished the morning with a slushie and headed home.
