Day 1
We started by clearing out the bathroom and hallway.
Then we started laying the tiles in there.
Which brings us this far:
That wasn’t enough though, so we cleared out Lillian’s room:
We laid a few tiles in there, but we didn’t take any pictures that night. At the end of Day 1, we had the seven whole tiles that go in the bathroom and hallway, and nine more into Lillian’s room. By then it was time to call it a day. Keep reading for Day 2!
Day 2
To start Day 2, we got that photo we missed last night:
After taking care of that, I laid the field tiles in Lillian’s room. It’s nice to see a room that looks nearly complete.
The next part was all kinds of fun… cutting tile! I’m pretty sure I’m using the cutter wrong, because it can’t possibly be designed to spray the user with ceramic tile bits and pieces (I suppose it could, but I hope not). Either way, I cut the tiles for the bathroom, so we could have one finished room. Only had one wasted tile too – not bad! I highly recommend the safety goggles.
Barbara thought we needed a close-up of my tile-splashed face:
Here’s a few cut tiles being test-fit:
All that tile crud paid off though, we have a tiled bathroom:
And just to make things look nicer, we popped out all the spacers from Lillian’s room. It kinda looks like a tiled bedroom. Tomorrow after work will be the grouting of the bathroom, and the outside (and closet) tiles in Lillian’s room.
