Ross Family Week!
We had our yearly Ross family get together this year and we all had such a good time. Matt, Lillian and I spent a long weekend out at Dot’s house in Alabama last week visiting with Matt’s parents and his brother Sam and sister Emily.
We celebrated Lillian’s birthday a little early so they could partake in the celebration. She loved her ocean themed cake and all her presents! Grandma and Grandpa gave her a wooden vegetable and fruit cutting game and an apron to wear while she practiced her cutting/cooking skills. Hunter and Katherine, Lillian’s cousins, gave her a monkey print hooded jacket and a hot pink dress that she loves! Her Great Grandpa came to the party and he and Great Grandma gave her a silver dollar and also two wooden puzzles and a light up toy.
We went into Montgomery one night to watch Wall-E, which was very cute. The rest of the time we spent enjoying the peace and quiet of the country life. We attended cemetery day, went fishing, played on the swing set, had a family & friend get together dinner and watched a few episodes of Psych. Overall a very relaxing visit.
Maggie and Charlotte didn’t miss out on too much, we dropped them off at my parents house Thursday night and they enjoyed playing with Rocky and visiting Abuelo and Abuela’s house. Their home away from home!
Sunday we all (including Maggie and Charlotte) packed up and drove down to our house to continue the fun. Matt introduced his family to the Wii and well, that was the center of our entertainment during their visit! We met up at the beach after work on Monday and spent a few hours playing then met up with our friends Jennifer and Ms. Brenda for dinner at The Scoreboard on Okaloosa Island (great wings and Philly cheese steak!!). Tuesday after work we had a nice dinner and then it was time to say goodbye. Lillian wanted no part in that. She kept saying "no bye!" Matt’s family has a business conference in Atlanta and they had to be there Wednesday so our visit had to come to an end.
Charlotte was a big hit! They absolutely fell in love with her. She would cuddle and sleep with anyone that would let her. Maggie on the other hand, is a very secluded/antisocial puppy who wanted nothing to do with anything but my pillow on the bed to take her naps, so Charlotte is a great compliment to her.
It was nice to see everyone and we hope to get together again in November up in Kansas. We’ll even have a bigger reunion then since Matt’s sister Melissae will be living there with her family. We’ll have all the Ross cousins together under one roof!
