We went to see a specialist, Dr. Boole, yesterday to get her ears checked out. For the last month she has had a chronic ear infection and with two rounds of antibotics it is still there. With the answers we got to our questions, Matt and I have decided go ahead and have ear tubes put in.
We will have the surgery done early morning on Thursday May 15th around 7am. The procedure lasts about 15 minutes total (putting her to sleep and the actual procedure). We will be home later in the morning and the doctor said she’ll probably be bouncing around by that afternoon. Overall it doesn’t seem like a huge ordeal, but of course Matt and I are still worried. What most concerns us is the anesthesia and not being able to see her during that time.
Lillian and I go in on Friday, May 9th for a pre-surgery check-in and hearing exam. Dr. Boole wants to make sure that her hearing hasn’t suffered from all the ear infections. We haven’t seen any signs that it has but some reassurance is always good.
